505 Queen St. East
Starting with Dan Aykroyd’s “505 Club”, in the early 70’s – the walls seem to have soaked up the creative essences of all who came here. Dan’s club offered a place for entertainers to come and wind down after their shows. This was at a time when Toronto’s drinking laws required that no drinks be served after 12 a.m. on a Saturday night.
It was here that Dan, John Belushi and Gilda Radner formed what would later become “The Blues Brothers”. It was here bands like The Downchild Blues Band played till the wee hours, along with Mick Jagger & ZZ Top – Francis Ford Coppola sometimes served drinks at the bar.
Photographers, writers, comedians and musicians all left their creative vibes here, located just off the cultural epicentre of Corktown, this property affords the owner premium access to all the downtown core has to offer (restaurants, galleries, fashion, theatre, etc).
